This weekend workshop is co-animated by Konstantinos Karafoulidis and Areti Tzirou from Thessaloniki, Greece.
We aim to discover the basic elements of AcroYoga in both acrobatic and therapeutic aspects. Handstand techniques, inversions, arm balances and flying vinyasas are well combined with fundamental poses and attractive transitions. Our fiery solar practice will cultivate trust and communication, as we will explore our body limits in the safest environment. Finally we will balance our lunar side via nourishing therapeutic flights and yummy Thai Massage!
The workshop is open to all and will be adapted depending on your level. It will be oriented as mainly acrobatic and will be taught in English with Bulgarian translation, when necessary.
Saturday 31/10 : 14.00-17.00 & 18.00-20.00
Sunday 01/11 : 10.00-13.00 & 14.00-16.00
Since I was a teenager, I had the need to connect with nature, to communicate with people and to truly understand and accept individuality. The path towards this achievement was art and yoga. I started acting classes for several years looking for my inner truth. It was only until I met my yoga teacher that I realized that this is what I want to do with my life, this is how I am going to let free myself. Thus, I have studied Yoga in India at the Yoga Vidhia Dham _ Nasik completing 250 hours of basic training and education of Hatha Yoga. I have also completed 100 hours of Yoga practice in YogaWorks in Thessaloniki. Recently I have obtained a diploma in Thai Massage at the Sunshine Network at Evoia. The most inspiring experience for me was the Acro-Yoga Teacher Training L1 that was held in Greece in summer 2011,as well as Teacher training L2,also in Greece in 2014. As the journey of the body-mind connection never ends, I have started contemporary dance classes and improvisation that assisted me in finding additional movement qualities. The last ten years I have been practicing Hatha, Asthanga, Nidra, Iyengar Yoga and contemporary dance in various studios in London, Amsterdam, India and Greece. Therefore, I have created the Kupukupu Yoga group where I use supplementary teaching practices by giving classes, workshops and performances. Through this group various opportunities are given to me to use multidisciplinary approaches in my practice and teaching and even in my performances. Through this group I have the opportunity to combine art with yoga and express myself in a wider audience, having always as an aim to inspire more individuals. Keep practicing and searching for your hidden treasure!
Born and raised in sunny Thessaloniki, I passionately commited myself to ballet since an early age.
I started practicing yoga at home during my university years, following along to a DVD in my living room! Felt incredibly grounded, so this led me to my first teacher’s, Konstantinos Karafoulidis’, doorstep where I took up regular hatha yoga classes. After obtaining my degree in Greek Mediaeval Literature and my MA in Theatre Studies, I completed a 200 hour Teacher Training certified by the International Yoga Federation and jumped into teaching, eager to share my passion with others, not only on the ground but also up in the air. In 2013 I continued my education at Sunshine House, completing a 60 hours Thai Massage intensive course under the guidance of Krishnataki. That same time, I obtained my Aerial Yoga certification and my flying mania kept on the fabrics. AcroYoga came into my life all of a sudden just to make me realize that it’s all about trust. Bewitched by the acroyogic philosophy, I love helping people find their own confidence and glow through playfulness.
