Prana Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Prana Vinyasa Flow yoga is developed by world renowed teacher Shiva Rea and the Global Vinyasa Collective teachers. Its philosophy is based on teachings of Krishnamacharya and other ancient traditions such as Tantra, Ayurveda and Bhakti yoga. Prana VInyasa Flow stimulates the awakening of the flow of Prana Shakti within our bodies.
Vinyasa flow yoga is an evolutionary form of the traditional Hatha yoga, whose focus is on synchronizing movement, breath and consciousness. The Vinyasa practice, or the synchronizing of postures and breathing in a flowing manner, is a technique that brings movement to the yoga postures. It is a dynamic and strong practice, suitable for people who have an active way of life.
Vinyasa Flow allows self-expression and is therefore recommended for people who would like to express or further develop their creativity, as well as people who love to dance. It is a dynamic, but flowing style of yoga, synchronizing breath and movement in order to achieve strength, grace and freedom.  Vinyasa makes connections between the poses that are structured in a natural way. It opens one asana and connects to another asana from the same family. Suriya Namaskar or the Sun Salutation is one of the basic examples of Vinyasa.

In the Vinyasa practice movement is the more important part. Beginners learn to move their bodies with awareness. Advancing in the practice one learns breathe consciously in Udjai pranajama (a manner of breathing that forgets about the heartbeat and activates the psychological qualities of consciousness), which can take months of practicing before mastering it. Gradually your yoga practice becomes smooth and flowing. Of course, every one moves in his/her own tempo, in his/her own unique way. Vinyasa can become a micro cosmos of consciousness in movement, as it frees us of subconscious stress and suppressed emotions we keep deep inside ourselves.

Classical Yoga

Classical Yoga is called Integral Yoga, taught by Shivananda, Satiananda and other practices. This type of yoga has its basis in Hatha yoga, asana’s, breathing techniques (pranayama), Raja yoga , pre-meditation and meditation techniques, mudras (energetic hand positions), bandhi (energy locks), Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation with visualization and positive affirmations), Mantra Yoga (singing of melodies, mostly in Sanskrit, that have a positive vibration and effect). The basis of classical yoga is that the postures are mostly done slowly, holding the poses, as well as relaxing after the postures.

Power Yoga

Power Yoga is for sport-loving people, who have a need for a great physical work-out, those who want to develop themselves in more complex asanas and teenagers. This practice is not suitable for people with serious health problems.

Power Yoga contains classical asanas with many different variations, as well as exercises that are not part of classical yoga - complex exercises that stretch and build muscles, anti-cellulite exercise, anti-stress series, combinations of different types of work-out for the whole body, separate exercises for problem zones, like the stomach. Power Yoga also has elements of Vinyasa Flow.

Power Yoga gives you a healthy and beautiful body, with a lot of flexibility, elasticity, easiness and grace. You develop strength, stamina, muscles, using only the bodies own weight. Power Yoga activates the burning of fat, improves the blood circulation, strengthens the immune system and is a great stress reliever.

Hat(h)a Yoga

The part ‘ha’ means sun, male, or lifeforce energy, the part ‘tha’ means moon, passive, female energy. This type of yoga focuses on the cleansing of the body as a means to cleanse the consciousness. This is the catalyst that awakens the two main life forces. With Hatha yoga practice you relax and re-energize yourself, while the mind is calm.

Ashtanga Yoga

The Ashtanga practice awakes the fire of life that lives in all of us. This system synchronizes the breath with movement, which gives a burst of energy, warms up the body and fills our blood with oxygen. This in turn feeds all systems and organs in our body, cleans our nervous system and cleanses us of toxins.

Prenatal Yoga

The system that we offer future mothers is a practice that prepares for giving birth through especially adapted exercises, as well as preparing mentally for the coming changes. This type of yoga helps pregnant women to overcome their fears and stress. During the exercises we learn how to communicate with our baby inside of us and how to help it to develop spiritual qualities even now. The course is focused on three main issues:
  • preparing the body for the physical changes during pregnancy – especially adapted yoga postures that work the stomach muscles, the spine, the lower back, the hips and pelvis, that give the muscles better flexibility, help your bones and your hormonal balance. Prenatal yoga is suitable also for pregnant women who experience discomfort due to their pregnancy like back aches, swelling of the hands, legs and feet amongst others.
  • A psychological and physical preparation for giving birth itself – locating and control of muscles that play a part in giving birth, breathing and other techniques that help during the process of labor, relaxing and special meditations that help with the psychological preparation process, dealing with fear and tension that are the main reasons for pain during labor.
  • Communicating with your child – concentration, meditation, breathing exercises, focusing your thoughts, prenatal communication and visualization. Through visualization and positive affirmations you can imagine your future child and give it qualities that fit with its spirit. With affirmations before and after the practice can help to create positive changes for you that will influence your child’s character positively, as well as to prepare for an easy birth without problems.

This course can be practiced by women in different stages of their pregnancy. The program is suitable and adapted especially for every stage. Even if you have never practiced yoga, you will reap benefits of this prenatal yoga. And it wouldn’t be surprising if it will lead you to have a new love in your life – a love for yoga…

Baby yoga

This course is a spontaneous continuation of the prenatal yoga for when your creation is already brought into the world. After giving birth there is a period of rehabilitation – getting rid of the extra kilo’s, getting our stomach’s back in shape, pelvic floor muscles, and to regain flexibility of our spine. All this we can achieve with the indispensable help of our babies. Baby yoga consists of especially adapted yoga exercises that are in line with the needs of mothers and their babies in the form of play, fun, games and dance. This course is not only beneficial for mummies, but also for their small babies – they don’t only get acquainted with their own bodies and learn how to listen with their bodies, but also how to communicate with other babies. But most of all, baby yoga is about having a good time! This course is suitable for babies from 40 days old to babies to babies that start walking.

Yoga for kids

The children’s yoga is practiced in a very playful form. The asanas have names of animals and plants and the kids really have fun, develop themselves, their imagination, concentration, self discipline, stamina and other valuable characteristics. The children will get stronger and more flexible as they develop their muscles in their whole body. Most importantly they will develop and straight and strong spine, giving them a good posture, as well as develop a strong immune system. The breathing exercises help develop the lungs and increase the flow of Prana (life force) in the body. There are exercises that help prevent and heal back problems, as well as exercises for the eyes. The kids learn and practice to perfect their bodies and spirits.
